Started playing in 1972 @ Worlebury Golf Club, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. Junior golf lessons on Saturday mornings with professional Robin Day for 25p!
I kept Worlebury Golf Club as my home club until I turned professional in 1991 even though I joint Burnham and Berrow Golf Club in1979 as my second club to improve my long game as it was a championship golf course. Lowest handicap as an amateur +1.5

In May 1990 travelling to The Lagonda Trophy at Gog Magog I fell asleep driving on the M11 and broke my neck, had 32 stitches to my head and a skin graft to my right arm and was out of the game for eight mounts and missing out on my England Cap.
PROFESSIONAL
In 1991 I turned professional and went for my European Tour Card sponsored by three hotels in Weston-super-Mare The Rozel Hotel, Beech Lawns Hotel and Commandor Hotel, Sand Bay, with out success. I started my PGA training at Tall Pines Golf Club, Bristol moved two years later to Head Assistant and Teaching Professional at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club. Qualified as a PGA Professional in 1995 and took the position of Head Professional at Churston Golf Club, Devon in 1996. In 2004 moved to Head Teaching Professional at Torbay Golf Centre where I still am to this day. In 2006 I was given the status of Advanced PGA Professional.

I had a hole in one at the age of nine on the second hole at Worlebury Golf Club playing with David Mellor, amazingly my second hole in one came as a professional on the seventh hole at Royal Porthcawl in the Glenmuir Club Professionals Championship at the age of 43!
